The sativa influence of this variety is most apparent in the structure of the flower and the resulting high. Vegetative growth is vigorous and reliable. Most plants develop a thick, productive main stem and robust branches with short internodal spaces. During the flowering phase, Feminized Banana Kush generally increases its vegetative height by 100 to 150 % and slows its height growth during the first weeks of flowering, as the first calyxes develop on its many budding sites. By the middle of its flowering period (seven to nine weeks), this variety will produce several small, solid, resinous calyxes at each node. These quickly develop into thick buds. Flower clusters often take on a conical or pyramidal shape, with an extra-wide base that tapers to a blunt point. Due to very vigorous budding, Banana Kush's terminal buds, present at the top of the main stem and branches, often join the flower clusters below, forming large heads («colas»). This happens despite the calyxes« tendency to cluster at the nodes, rather than on the internodal space. During the flowering phase, White Label Banana Kush requires very little maintenance, and the plants can be left alone until harvest time. Humidity must be kept low during the second half of flowering, due to the size and growth of tight buds. Like many heavy indica varieties, Banana Kush needs plenty of nutrients to produce optimum results. With the right level of care, plants tend to produce abundant harvests. After harvesting, the buds generally dry quickly, retaining much of their size. For larger harvests, we recommend installing a dehumidifier or ensuring good air circulation in the drying area, as Banana Kush buds can release large quantities of water into the air. Manicuring the plants is also straightforward, as they produce minimal foliage during the flowering phase. The effects are predominantly indica, but there's enough sativa to make her body high potent and differentiate her from other Kush strains.
