This series highlights women who love weed
While the Women are playing an increasingly important role in the cannabis industry, yet common perceptions of cannabis culture do not always reflect this.
Queens of the Stoned Age, a new series of Merry Jane, Produced by Snoop Dogg, it aims to further highlight people who use cannabis.
While France continues to stigmatize users, the show’s producer, Tara Aquino, explains that she intends to bring more women into cannabis culture and try to dispel the stereotype that the cannabis scene is just about bros.
«The cannabis scene is a male-dominated culture, and it’s hard for women to see themselves represented. This show is meant to be a symbol and to empower women to come out of the closet and show that, hey, there are women who are successful and who use cannabis in their daily lives, and who are killing it in their respective fields.»
«Weed doesn't hold you back—it can only bring out the best in you,» she adds.
Above all, she would like to Queens of the Stoned Age or a chat channel about women and weed.
«We wanted to use weed as a starting point to talk about bigger issues like sex, well-being, and creativity, and show how weed actually affects and benefits all of those things,» she said.
«We want women to openly discuss their relationship with weed in a safe space, and from there, talk about their relationship with the world and with one another.».
The series also features Jessica Assaf, co-creator of the program and founder of Cannabis Feminist, an all-female brand marketing agency.
The next episodes will air every two weeks on Merry Jane's YouTube channel.
