Charlize Theron recalls her stoner days
Charlize Theron recently opened up on E! News about her stoner phase when she was younger.
«Yes, oh yes, I was a wake-and-baker ’[Translator's note: a fan of smoking a joint for breakfast] for a good part of my life,» she said without hesitation to host Sibley Scoles after being asked if she had ever smoked marijuana in her life.
In the midst of promoting the movie Gringo Alongside her on-screen co-star David Oyelowo, Charlize Theron continued: «Yes, I was older; I didn’t really try anything until I was older. I really enjoyed cannabis, more than alcohol or anything else. I used to smoke it with a bong. And one day, it just changed—in my early thirties. It just started to bore me. I’d find myself standing there, staring at my fridge. It totally changed. So I quit.»
Although she is 42 years old today, the actress hasn't completely given up on the plant.
She says she’s «ready to try again,» especially since «these days, there are all these different strains, each with specific effects. And I’m really interested because I have serious insomnia, and I’d be better off stopping my sleeping pills and finding a strain that helps me sleep better.»
