[Spoiler: no] Snoop Dogg quits smoking. For real?
Snoop Dogg announced Thursday evening in a black-and-white post on social media that he was quitting smoking.
The rapper and entrepreneur’s sudden statement reads as follows: «After much thought and discussion with my family, I have decided to quit smoking. Please respect my privacy during this time.».
«I'm quitting smoking,» he added in the caption.

Although many internet users, celebrities, and brands have expressed their support for Snoop in the comments, some have wondered if he was serious. Is the end of the world near, or is this just a big publicity stunt for a vape brand or a’edibles ? Is he quitting cannabis altogether, or just smoking it?
Snoop's announcement comes after the launch of a handbag created in collaboration with Martha Stewart, the « Best Buds Bags«. The limited-edition shoulder bag has «everything you need. My favorite lighter, my favorite color, and secret pockets big enough for my favorite herbs.» The two friends have also collaborated on a collection of lighters that will be launched next year, according to Snoop Dogg’s statement to the magazine The Source.
He also announced a week ago a partnership with Ispire and Hempacco for the North American launch of vape pen and cannabinoid- and nicotine-based e-liquids under the Dogg Lbs brand.
It may come as a surprise, but Snoop has already explained that he regularly quit smoking. During an appearance on the show Kocktails with Khloe Kardashian, he said in 2016 that he had quit smoking for three months while he was coaching the youth team at the Snoop Youth Football League, a soccer league he founded.
«And I had to pull myself together. I quit smoking starting that day, for 180 days straight. It made me a better coach, a better person, and I quit smoking while I was coaching soccer. Every year, when I coach kids in soccer, I don’t smoke, so I end up doing that for three months a year.».
Reveal: It was actually an ad campaign for a smokeless fire pit…
