«The French, no more excuses now. Go make some excellent hash!!!» Kimberly Cannoli, Frenchy's wife, recently disappeared, The «hash master's» new tutorial, now with French subtitles.
In accordance with her husband's wishes share the art of hashish as widely as possible, Kimberly has worked with cannabis enthusiasts in several countries, including Antoine C. for the French translation and Felipe del Valle from OverGrow Shop for the subtitle template and project coordination. Thanks to them, the video is now translated into English, French, Spanish, Portuguese and soon Italian.
Available on YouTube, Frenchy shows us the step-by-step process of making hashish using an ice-water sieving methodology. And while it may seem a simple affair, excellence is to be found in the details, which Frenchy mastered to perfection.
Patience and attention to detail
The master hash-maker, who drew his know-how from producing countries such as India and Pakistan, uses a simple ice-water extraction method, with the water first playing a rehydration role and the cold then seizing the trichomes to the stem for better release.
«It's very important that it's completely rehydrated.», explains Frenchy. The machine then mixes the flowers, water and ice cubes for a few minutes.
This operation separates the resin from the rest of the flower. As a result, when he empties the water into a sieve, he recovers the precious cannabis resin, which is used to make his hash. Compared to the 300 grams of flower used, only a few grams remain.
Frenchy then repeated the operation, adding more water and sieving a second, third and fourth time, et cetera. Seven to twelve times, the professional tells us. «I get more and more resin, then the quantity slowly decreases».», he explains. The resin is then stored in the refrigerator in the form of patties, which will be carefully dried and then pressed with a gentle heat to decarboxylating matter and bring out its terpenes.
This hour-and-a-half-long video shows just how complex it can be to produce the finest cannabis resin. Even if the basic equipment is within everyone's reach, Frenchy showed us that you need to be patient and meticulous to produce exceptional resins as he knew how!
