How to use CBD?
The cannabidiol (CBD) is becoming increasingly popular, notably for its ability to combat inflammation, anxiety or simply as a relaxant, without the psychotropic properties of THC.
From e-liquids to oils and cosmetics, it's not always easy to find the right product for your needs. best way to consume CBD, And which method is right for you. Here are the different methods of consuming CBD so that you can find the one that best suits your needs:
- By inhalation, for example with CBD e-liquid
- By vaporization, of CBD flowers, CBD concentrates or CBD cartridges
- By ingesting CBD capsules or softgels
- Sublingual use, with CBD oils
- In combustion, from CBD flowers or resin
- Skin application, with CBD cosmetics
- With water, thanks to water-soluble CBD extracts
- As an infusion, either in hot water or in infused food.
Inhaling CBD
E-liquid with CBD
CBD e-liquids are the most popular method of consumption to date in France. Most often made from CBD isolate, these e-liquids have no therapeutic value. Cleared of other cannabinoids, the’CBD isolate is far less effective than a full-spectrum extraction.
CBD e-liquids are consumed with an e-cigarette. Generally flavored with natural terpenes (not cannabis terpenes) to approximate the flavors of well-known weed varieties, they can also be homemade with a neutral base, CBD crystals and terpenes.
Some e-liquid brands also sell CBD boosters, to be added to a neutral base or to a ready-made e-liquid.
Vaporize CBD
CBD can also be vaporized, from various extractions: CBD crystals, crumble / shatter / wax CBD... Most THC extractions have their CBD equivalent and can be consumed in the same way: as a dab or in a vaporizer for concentrates. Our favourite gift: the Puffco Plus.
Consuming CBD cannabis flowers
It's all the rage in France at the moment: «cannabis light» or CBD cannabis. CBD weed flowers now look and smell a lot like their THC cousins, but produce no psychotropic effects.
Consumers are looking for a relaxing effect and a close relationship with weed. The target audience is threefold: people who like weed but not its effects, people who have smoked too much cannabis before and can't stand THC any more, or those who want to smoke cannabis without getting high.
Ingesting CBD capsules
The CBD capsules are one of the best ways to ingest CBD. CBD takes longer to work, however, and the same precautions apply as with THC: start with a small dose and wait an hour before seeing the effects. The effects also last longer.
Taking CBD oil sublingually
CBD oil is mainly consumed sublingually, with high bioavailability, a method often adopted when involving children. These CBD extracts are potent and should be used under the supervision of a doctor for medical use, although few in France are today able to set up a protocol for use.
A distinction must be made between CBD oils with CBD e-liquids or CBD-infused olive oils. CBD oil is a pure extraction of cannabis in which only the CBD has been preserved (or the plant itself contained little THC). CBD oils for sublingual consumption are also not suitable for vaporization (unless RSO).
Tasting CBD pasta
CBD paste is the equivalent of « hashish light». Of varying quality depending on the brand, some of the pasta is really hard to see: pressed vegetable, terpenized and CBDized... It's a far cry from Moroccan.
But if you find a well-made CBD resin, it can then be consumed by inhalation/vaporization or mixed with sauces in cooking.
Using CBD cosmetics
Cosmetics come in a variety of forms, from balms to creams, and can be applied directly to the skin. Users will mainly be looking for the anti-inflammatory, nourishing or relaxing effects of CBD.
These products are, of course, non-psychotropic, regardless of their CBD or THC concentration. CBD cosmetics can help reduce inflammation, for example in cases of arthritic joint pain or muscular pain.
Enjoy the effects of water-soluble CBD
Quite sought-after, water-soluble CBD makes it easy to infuse any liquid. Depending on the product, 1 or 2 drops are enough for 1.5 to 1 liter of water. Dosages can of course be increased according to needs and expectations.
Enjoy CBD-infused foods
Chewing gum, cookies, smoothies... CBD can be incorporated into virtually any food. On the other hand, it has very poor resistance to cooking. So opt for uncooked dishes, or add it at the last minute. With terpenized CBD, you can combine business with pleasure, adding the flavours of your favourite weed to your favourite dishes.
