Cannabis treatments for pets
With the exception of insects, all animals have a nervous system sensitive to cannabis molecules. Scientific studies agree that animals can be treated with cannabis in the same way as humans.
But treating your pet to CBD or THC Is it dangerous for the animal? Will it remain stoned for life?
The THC seems potentially dangerous for our little companions, who are unable to communicate their psychological state to us, and no one knows when they will return to their normal state.
CBD does not produce psychotropic effects seems more suitable for our animals. In the same way as humans CBD-infused foods should be available in the USA within the next 5 years, to treat cancer, muscular inflammation and pain. For the moment, most space foods for animals are created by hemp-based, since it has no psychoactive effects and is milder than marijuana.
Veterinarians explore this new branch of treatment, with medicinal cannabis treatments for humans being emulated. While the veterinary world is not yet ready, legally and scientifically, to deliver CBD treatments, some users are not hesitating to give CBD space-foods intended for humans, to treat their animals.
Users who have tested this method report that the animals are calmer during car journeys, thunderstorms or anxious visits to the vet.
For the time being, costly scientific research has yet to determine how the dogs metabolize cannabis. Nor do we know the long-term effect of the green plant on our pets. But with 70%'s close genetic resemblance to humans, treatments should be available in the years to come.
