UFCM I Care 2017: 6th international conference on the therapeutic use of cannabinoids
The Union Francophone pour les Cannabinoïdes en Médecine (UFCM) is organizing the 6th conference on pharmacological advances and the therapeutic use of cannabinoids on October 20, 2017 in Strasbourg. The event is open to all and will be held from 9am to 5:45pm at Strasbourg's Faculty of Pharmacy.
UFCM is a French association founded by patient and activist Bertrand Rambaud, which promotes and disseminates information on the use of hemp and its derivatives as a medical treatment.
The event is also an opportunity to encourage exchanges between healthcare professionals and patients, and to promote cannabinoid research in French-speaking countries more generally.
The October 20 conference will welcome specialists from all over the world, including France, who will discuss topics such as the personalization of cannabis-based treatments for cancer patients, the use of cannabidiol (CBD) in cases of infantile epilepsy, or the presentation of cannabinoid vaporization equipment with therapeutic approval for herbal medicine by Storz & Bickel (the makers of Volcano).
The complete program is here.
It's always surprising to see such an in-depth conference on the subject in a country whose laws are so harsh on patients who want to treat themselves with cannabis. But France is no stranger to contradictions, and the UFCM's initiative shows that not everyone has given up on the subject.
