Emerald Cup 2017: December 9-10, Santa Rosa, California
The 14th Emerald Cup will be held in Santa Rosa (California) on December 9 and 10, 2017.
This year's edition promises to be more important than ever as California rebuilds from the past. devastating fires in october.
L’Emerald Cup 2017 will be the first major event since the fires, and event organizers have been involved in various fund-raising events for people who lost their homes and livelihoods in the flames.
This will also be the last Emerald Cup before the transition to legal cannabis sales for all adults in California. Zone 215, reserved for medical patients, will therefore make its last stand before disappearing.
And for the curious, yes, in the medical zone, you can buy/taste, smoke, dabber, vaporize, unlike European lounges where you can't find anything legally and where the security services are more or less tolerant.
The Emerald Cup will also host numerous concerts (The Roots, Gramatik, Pimps of Joytime, Chali 2NA among others), glass-blowing, lectures by the cannabic industry's leading personalities, and of course the cannabis strain competition, featuring only organic and outdoor-grown strains, the local specialty.
Only a few days left to take your seats here if you're lucky enough to be in the area. We were there last year and the Emerald Cup is well worth the trip.
L’Emerald Cup was created in 2003 by Tim Blake, and is California's first organic outdoor cannabis competition. What began as a confined event for 200 enthusiasts has grown into one of the most prestigious cannabis cups in the world.
