Hulk Hogan takes his turn in cannabis
In the theatrical world of wrestling, where physical prowess is celebrated and tenacity rewarded, one titan has often reigned supreme, riding the waves of fame and respect: Terry Eugene Bollea, better known to the world as Hulk Hogan. Behind his achievements, however, lies a harsh reality: countless injuries and 28 surgical operations over the past decade.
Hulk Hogan's little secret
«I've had ten back operations, kidney operations and two hip operations. It's a situation where you're constantly injured,» admits Hogan. Despite these enormous challenges, his determination has never wavered. In fact, he says: «I feel better than I ever have at 69. I feel like I'm 25 again.»
What's the secret to Hulk Hogan's newfound health and vitality? The answer lies in two cannabis compounds: THC and CBD.
These cannabinoids became Hogan's new allies in his journey towards health and well-being. Prior to this transformation, Hogan was at constant war with chronic pain. His solace, albeit temporary and inadequate, consisted of prescription drugs such as Tylenol, Advil and Aleve. These drugs eventually proved ineffective, and Hogan sought more lasting relief.
«CBD and THC have really changed my sleep, inflammation, the way my wrists and joints hurt. Overall, it's helped me get healthy again,» reveals Hulk Hogan.
Hulk Hogan's experience led him to launch a THC and CBD brand
Hulk Hogan's experience with THC and CBD was so profound that he decided to take it a step further. Inspired by other icons such as Mike Tyson and Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan has decided to launch his own brand of cannabis-based products.
This initiative, undertaken in partnership with Carma HoldCo (the company responsible for «Tyson Ranch 2.0» and «Ric Flair Drip»), is an extension of its commitment to promoting healthier and safer alternatives to traditional prescription drugs.
«I immediately wanted to be part of the team because CBD can be used for energy, sleep, fitness,» confides Hogan. «It's a logical extension of what I was already doing (taking medication), but it's a safer way to approach the problem rather than approaching it as a catch-all, i.e. with the typical drugs prescribed by doctors. That just didn't make sense anymore.»
Chad Bronstein, President of Carma HoldCo, shares Mr. Hogan's enthusiasm for their joint venture. Not only do they intend to offer THC and CBD products, but they also plan to introduce an exciting range of functional mushrooms and other health and wellness products.
«Their stories [Hogan's, Tyson's and Flair's] are part of why people are more open to using these specific products,» says Bronstein.
With this new venture, Hogan hopes to change the discourse on CBD and THC, not only for himself, but for others in the wrestling industry and beyond: »I think it's something that would help the WWE, the wrestlers right now, especially with the intensity of their work. They're tearing their bodies apart and working really hard. So I'm really looking forward to it,» Hogan reveals.
