Patrick Menucci calls for the legalization of cannabis in France
New news report from Marseille. During the night of June 24th to 25th, two men were shot and killed with Kalashnikovs in their car in a parking lot in a housing project in the 15th arrondissement. A 14-year-old girl who was nearby was also injured by a stray bullet, but her life is no longer in danger today.
The Socialist Party deputy from Bouches-du-Rhône, Patrick Menucci, reacted on his Facebook page: «I reaffirm the necessity for France to open the debate on the legalization of cannabis.»

Patrick Menucci is a strong advocate for legalization of cannabis in France, not necessarily for economic and political stakes, but first and foremost to protect the youth of Marseilles neighborhoods that he knows particularly well.

He had already spoken out after the triple murder committed in early April in the same district of Marseille, again on the grounds of cannabis trafficking. His political opponents, but not only them (hello Samia Ghali), had then attacked him, denouncing a meaningless proposal.
Patrick Menucci had also welcomed Jean-Michel Baylet's arrival in the government, a quiet proponent of legalization. JMB had immediately distanced himself from this assertion, stating that it was «not his role» (he is the Minister of Regional Development).
