Greengo arrives in France
Today, very few brands are attempting to enter the French market. This is doubtless due to the monopoly of OCB and Rizla, which cover 95% of brands distributed in tobacconists' shops. To find others, you have to go to a headshop or growshop, or order them on the Internet. So when a brand launches in France, we're delighted.
Greengo is a Dutch leaf brand, which recently opened an office in Burgundy. Greengo's credo is simple: to be as green as possible.
The sheets are produced in the Czech Republic, from wood from sustainable forests, and treated without chlorine. The pantyhose is made from natural gum arabic, without sugar or chemical components as is sometimes the case.
To go all the way green, the packaging is made from recycled cardboard and the organic ink is soy-based.
Greengo doesn't just offer leaves. Some happy beneficiaries of the GreenBox will have been able to discover rolling trays made from hemp plastic. And Greengo also offers 1-stage grinders in the same material.
The next rolling and grinder trays will be made of recycled hemp plastic and biodegradable! In the ground, they disappear after a few weeks.
Testing Greengo sheets
What about Greengo rolling papers? Since we discovered them in the Greenbox, we've left the OCBs on the back burner, for a number of reasons.
Read more: OCB, Greengo, Smoking, ...: what are the differences between rolling papers?
Firstly, Greengo doesn't leave a taste when smoked. Nowadays, we can smell it clearly when we return to an OCB, and that little taste of ’occis carton blindé« ends up bothering us.
Now we smoke green. Greengo follows the same principles as Raw, and it's not to our displeasure. Gone are the days when we cut our toncar from the reflective stickers on our leaf packs. The cardboard filters supplied with the sheets are much more practical, and healthier. We could do even healthier using filter tips or glass filters, But we don't always carry all our gear with us.
No more wasted sheets. Whether you're a good roller or a bad one, there's always a sheet that tears or doesn't sit properly. Greengo's are no thicker than an OCB, but they're the big winners in our rolling tests. Yes, even you, accustomed to making sweets, will be able to produce some pretty rolls.
For the time being, you'll have a hard time finding them in tobacconists, but the brand is approaching around twenty points of sale a month. They'll probably be arriving near you soon! In the meantime, you can buy them in specialized growshops and headshops, and on the Greengo website.
