Gwenevere, 3, epileptic and treated with cannabis oil
No longer able to cope with his daughter's 50 daily epileptic seizures, this devoted father decided to take matters into his own hands. Alex Repetski has spent the last 18 months researching benefits of cannabi oils and how he could help his 3-year-old daughter, Gwenevere.
Gwenevere was diagnosed with epilepsy and suffered constant seizures throughout the day. Some were visible, others not. She could barely sit up, so violent were the seizures. Doctors tried several treatments to reduce the number of seizures, up to 9 at a time, with no improvement.
Alex, who lives in Canada, decided to take action and turned to cannabis oil, about which he had read that the CBD, the non-psychoactive substance in cannabis, could help control seizures. «At some point, you've got nothing left to lose. If nothing else works, let's try this.
Only one doctor authorized the cannabis prescription, His decision was based primarily on his confidence in Alex. At the time, cannabis oil was still illegal in Canada. Only weed was allowed, but having a 3-year-old smoke or vaporize was out of the question. So Alex learned how to make’cannabis oil in his kitchen, then had it tested in the laboratory to make sure it was healthy. He then started giving Gwenevere small quantities of the oil, three times a day. After several attempts to find the right dosage, Alex managed to find the right amount for his daughter.

Two days after the first shot of cannabis oil, Gwen had a minor epileptic seizure. Since then, nothing. For a little girl who could have up to 50 seizures a day, this was a huge breakthrough. Today, her daily life has improved dramatically. Gwenevere is starting to speak and interact with her environment again. She has learned to walk, to feed herself and to tease her brothers.
The Supreme Court of Canada has since authorized the administration of medical cannabis in oil form, so Alex is no longer an outlaw. But he knows that cannabis oil doesn't cure Gwenevere's epilepsy, and is calling for more research into cannabis oil.
Collective Evolution produced a powerful report on Gwenevere. You can watch it below, and share it with as many people as possible.
