Malta's first Cannabis Club starts distributing cannabis to its members
Malta's first cannabis harm reduction association is now «fully operational», announced the Authority for the Responsible Use of Cannabis (Authority for the Responsible Use Of Cannabis).
The KDD Society, registered as CHRA 002, «began distributing cannabis to registered adult members», after having obtained an operating license in October 2023.
In recent weeks, the association has successfully passed «all mandatory CURA laboratory tests, including the phytocannabinoids, Micro-organism analysis, bacterial, yeast and mold counts, mycotoxins, trace and heavy metal analysis, water activity and moisture content, as well as dirt and foreign matter, ensuring that cannabis grown and distributed within cannabis harm reduction associations is free of unwanted contaminants.»
Cannabis flowers grown, packaged and distributed by the CURA can be identified by the unique CURA label and seal on opening packages. child-proof.
«Cannabis harm reduction associations are the only regulated entities to cultivate and distribute non-medical cannabis above 0.2 % THC,» said CURA, which said it was «pleased that one year after the Convention on Setting Standards for a Non-Profit Approach from Cannabis Seed to Distribution, cannabis harm reduction associations have begun to operate in a highly regulated manner, based on a public health and harm reduction approach.».
