Here, there's no talk of THC (or very little), but of CBD or light cannabis. The jury box contain 1 gram of 35 different varieties of CBD (15g indoor, 10g outdoor and 10g in a greenhouse). You will need to select the best ones based on their appearance and taste. The jury boxes also contain two tickets (and drink vouchers) for the CannaTrade Where will the awards ceremony take place in 2019, with a special gift set from Gizeh, the hemp rolling paper brand, thrown in?.
Short story from the CannaSwissCup
The idea of CannaSwissCup was born during a meeting of the Swiss Hemp Coordination in 1998. The first competition only included six producers and outdoor varieties. Other editions were held in the 2000s. The prizes are traditionally awarded during the Schweizer Hanftage (Swiss Hemp Days), which in 2001 became the annual gathering for a traditional hemp fair in Bern, CannaTrade. Nevertheless, a crackdown forced the cessation of the CannaSwissCup which will only be rehabilitated in 2016 thanks to the success of «light cannabis.».
Today, CBD cultivation is well established in Switzerland, and the upcoming competition looks promising. The event has grown in scale; last year it featured 600 judges, three categories (indoor, outdoor, and greenhouse), and 35 varieties of CBD flowers (all within the legal Swiss limit of 11 CannaTrade in May. A draw will also be held for jury members, with a trip to the Emerald Cup in California as the prize (the world's largest organic and outdoor cannabis competition).
