CannaSwissCup opens its doors to European growers
Previously reserved for Swiss growers, the CannaSwissCup will officially welcome European producers for its 2025 / 2026 edition, in four main categories: Indoor, Outdoor, Greenhouse and Hash.
Producers outside Switzerland can submit their applications until December 31, 2025. Each participant must supply 950 grams per registered variety, divided into one-gram samples. These will then be subjected to laboratory testing to ensure compliance with THC limits and detect the presence of pesticides and synthetic cannabinoids, This is an essential step in guaranteeing consumer safety and product transparency.
How the jury selection process works
The jury selection process is one of the pillars of the Coupe's identity. Over the course of several selection days organized in the different language regions of Switzerland, independent expert jurors test the registered varieties. Their task: to make an initial selection of the varieties that will appear on the official CannaSwissCup jury cards.
These cards, 850 for flowers and 850 for hashish, contain one-gram samples of the nominated products. They will be available for purchase from mid-February 2026, both online and in selected cannabis stores. By purchasing a card, consumers themselves become part of the jury, tasting the products and voting until the end of May. Each vote is cast online using a personalized code.

Jury members who submit their votes are automatically entered into a prize draw which includes, among other prizes, a trip to Amsterdam.
Awards ceremony at CannaTrade 2026
The awards ceremony will take place on May 30, 2026, during the CannaTrade hemp trade fair, in Zurich's Hall 622. The event will have a double significance: not only will it mark the crowning of the new international award winners, but CannaTrade will also be celebrating its 25th anniversary.
The producers who finish on the podium in each category will receive the coveted CannaSwissCup trophies, as well as the right to use a special logo indicating their ranking, an asset for their visibility and credibility on the market.
In addition to the winners, all participants will benefit from visibility: their company details, logos and product profiles will be featured on cannaswisscup.ch as well as on the contest's official social network accounts. In addition, each producer will receive a from the cannabinoid and terpene profile of its varieties a scientific analysis that can be used both internally and for communication purposes.
Created in 1998, the CannaSwissCup has long been one of the most recognized competitions on the Swiss and European cannabis scene. Launched in the days of «scented bags», when products «legally» contained THC cannabis, the event has become a benchmark. After being suspended in 2006, the competition was relaunched in 2017, focusing exclusively on flowers and CBD hashish produced in Switzerland, and now opening up to Europe.
