CannaTrade unveils this year's program
Held annually in Zurich, the CannaTrade is an opportunity for hemp artisans to meet, share ideas and compete for excellence in a number of different categories. It's also an opportunity for the public to discover the full potential of the plant in a festive atmosphere. CannaTrade will take place from May 17 to 19, and pre-sales are now open. are available here. In all, over 12,000 visitors from all over the world are expected.
A short history of CannaTrade
The fair began in 2001 and was held annually, bringing together local and European hemp growers. Repressive national policies then somewhat curbed its development and stifled its notoriety, but in 2016, the appearance of light cannabis in Switzerland (< 1% THC ) reinvigorated the Swiss hemp industry and, by extension, the cultural events that were associated with it, including of course the CannaTrade.
CannaTrade is a comprehensive fair that brings together all possible aspects of hemp, from its agricultural, social and artistic cultivation to its consumption, from the food industry to the cosmetics and construction industries, reflecting on both its history and its future. The fair features 150 stands and 200 exhibitors from all over the world, presenting their products and exchanging ideas with the public.
Originally focused exclusively on hemp, this year's fair will also address issues related to THC cannabis. Alongside the fair, on Thursday May 16, the following events will be held in Zurich the’International Cannabis Business Conference, the must-attend event for players in the global cannabis industry. The fair will also be punctuated by debates and conferences on cannabis in various fields: business, politics (Friday), culture (Saturday) and medicine (Sunday).
