Morocco unveils logo for legal cannabis products
A joint decree by Morocco's Minister of the Interior and Minister of Industry and Commerce institutes an official logo. for cannabis products intended for legal use.
As announced in the official bulletin of April 1, 2024, the order introduces a logo designed as an emblem representing a hemp leaf enclosed in an ornament, accompanied by the word «CANNABIS» in capital letters below.
Logo colors vary from white to black, depending on product packaging.
Since the decree came into force, all products on the market must carry this logo, which certifies their authenticity and quality. Violations of this law can result in fines ranging from 50 to 5,000 dirhams, as stipulated in article 47 of the decree.
The adoption of this logo marks a step forward in the implementation of the national strategy to legalize cannabis for authorized use, coinciding with the start of export operations.
The first Morocco's legal cannabis harvest totalled 294 tonnes, with average production ranging from 10 to 27 quintals per hectare.
