Focus Vape test
The Focus Vape is the first portable vaporizer from the iFocus brand, which was apparently founded by a former employee of Smiss Technology, the manufacturer of Flowermate vaporizers.
Right off the bat, the Focus reminds us of the Storm spray which we previously tested and liked. They share several features in common: their size, the removable battery, and the glass mouthpiece. But after putting it through our rigorous testing, the Focus actually performs even better.
Focus Vape's Look
The Focusvape is very well made. The silicone trim has a stitch or faux leather makes it look pretty sexy, especially since it feels nice in your hand. The Focus is heavy, but just enough to show how sturdy it is.
The Focus will be less inconspicuous than a GPen Elite This is primarily due to its size, which, on the other hand, allows it to accommodate a removable—and therefore replaceable—battery. This may extend the vaporizer’s lifespan, provided no parts fail first. The battery can be recharged either with a wall charger or via USB.
The heating chamber is made entirely of ceramic and is very thin, which promotes efficient and even heating. In fact, it takes only 20 seconds to reach 190°C. The mouthpiece is made of glass and features a ceramic filter and a protective screen to prevent impurities from entering.
The Focus can hold dried herbs and concentrates when equipped with the appropriate components (special chamber).
Focusvape Features
The Focus comes with:
- A user manual
- A cleaning brush
- An extra mouthpiece
- A metal adapter for a hookah
- 3 grids
- A wall charger for the battery
- A USB cable for charging it
The vaporizer offers 6 preset temperatures, ranging from 160°C to 220°C. When the vaporizer reaches its temperature (which happens quickly), it will let you know by vibrating. It’s a bit of a gadget, but it’s practical to use.
An adjustable ring allows you to control the airflow into the vaporizer. Combined with the different temperature settings, this lets each user find their preferred setting.
It takes about 3–4 hours to charge the battery, and it lasts between 1 hour and 1 hour and 30 minutes. To conserve battery life and for safety reasons, the vaporizer turns off every 5 minutes if you don't change the settings. It will remain in standby mode for 3 minutes if you don't do anything. A simple click on the center button reactivates it and extends the runtime by another 5 minutes.
How to Use the Focus Vape
One button does it all on the Focus: turn it on or off and choose from the 6 available temperature settings.
To turn it on, click the center button 4 times. Do the same to turn it off. To start heating, hold down the center button for 2 seconds. The LED will then start flashing. When the vaporizer is ready for use, it will vibrate. To change the temperature, click the button twice.
It heats up very quickly: between 12 and 15 seconds for the lowest temperature, 20 seconds for 190°C, and so on. The vapor quality is also impressive. Unlike many vaporizers, every setting produces visible vapor, ranging from light to thick depending on the temperature and airflow you choose. If you leave only one hole open, the puffs will be harder to take. If you leave all three open, you’ll inhale more air. It all depends on your preference.
The airflow passes directly from the holes to the heating chamber and then to the mouthpiece. There’s no plastic or metallic taste, except for a slight “new” taste the first few times. The dried herbs come out a beautiful, uniform brown, which means they’ve been used thoroughly and evenly. The flavor is also very well preserved and pleasant on the palate, with a rich vapor.
Focus Vaporizer Review
We like:
- The device is sturdy. It feels good in the hand and has a top-notch finish.
- The adjustable airflow and vibration mode, both of which are very useful
- Value for money compared to the competition
We don't like :
- Its size will bother those who prefer discretion
- The inability to adjust with degree-level precision
Verdict:
We’re wrapping up this review with a score of 8/10—a very good score for its category. One might almost say that the Focus has taken all the strengths of the Storm (or the Xmax V2 Pro, for those who are particular) and taken them a step further with the adjustable ring and vibration mode.
The Focus Vape is available at LaCentraleVapeur.
