Testing the GPen Elite
The GPen Elite is the latest model from Grenco, a brand whose product we had previously tested GPen Pro. The Elite’s goal is clearly to go beyond the models the brand has released so far, which were very often reworked versions of existing models. The GPro is, in fact, a customized Titan 1 with a Snoop Dogg theme. The Elite is a model manufactured from scratch and is targeting the high-end vaporizer market.
GPen Elite Look
The GPen Elite It’s the smallest vaporizer we’ve tried so far, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t effective. It reaches 200° in 30 seconds, and you can adjust the temperature to the nearest degree using the buttons on the side and the built-in LED display.
The heating chamber is made entirely of ceramic and can hold up to 0.5g of dried, ground herb. The mouthpiece is coated with a layer of silicone that can be removed to wash the mouthpiece and the protective screen that prevents impurities from getting back into the device. Some people manage to remove the screen from the mouthpiece, but we can’t. Maybe it’s just a matter of getting used to it.
For now, the GPen Elite only works with dried herbs, but a new version is expected to be released soon for concentrates.
GPen Elite Features
The GPen Elite comes with:
- 1 tool for loading the heating chamber
- 1 brush for cleaning the chamber or the grate
- 1 card grinder
- 1 USB charger
The vaporizer can be adjusted to the nearest degree, from 90 to 220°C. The display can be set to either °C or °F, which is convenient for our American friends. The battery charges quickly (between 2 and 3 hours) and lasts a long time—longer than most vaporizers.

GPen Elite and accessories
Using the GPen Elite
The GPen Elite It turns on after pressing the center button 5 times. It is then set to the last temperature used. If you do nothing, it will turn off within 40 seconds. Pressing the center button briefly for 1 second starts the heating process. The buttons on the side allow you to increase or decrease the temperature.
It’ll take a few dry runs or runs with a light load to get rid of the plastic taste that’s present in the vapor at first. It’s a bit of a shame, given how well-crafted the rest of the vape is, but it’s not a deal-breaker. The mouthpiece also gets a little warm during use, but much, much less so than the GPro.
The flavors are well preserved, and the smoke is light—or barely noticeable—resulting in calm, relaxed effects and a hint of euphoria. The herb turns a deep brown, a sign that it has reached its full potential.
GPen Elite Debrief
We like:
- Clearly, the size. You can tell that Grenco went out of its way to make a truly portable vaporizer.
- Heating time
- Battery life
We don't like :
- The mouthpiece gets a little warm
- The plastic taste that doesn't go away until after a few sessions
Verdict:
We're wrapping up this review with a 9 out of 10. Grenco really put a lot of effort into this model, and it's clearly a serious competitor to the Pax 2 We can't wait to try it out!
