Today, we’re featuring a «Test Room» dedicated to the H2FLO vaporizer from FlytLab!
FlytLab is a very young company that was founded in 2014. It is based in Los Angeles, California (the Mecca of medical and recreational cannabis, by the way). Today, they work with dispensaries across the United States in states that have legalized medical and recreational cannabis, as well as in Canada. Their next step is to enter the medical market in hospitals.
The most important point is this company’s slogan, «Get Lifted»—which literally means «to be high» in French. It’s a lifestyle they embrace both in the design of their vaporizers and in their overall way of life. Despite their youth, the team already presents itself as a group of enthusiasts for quality products and modern clothing, with a collection of “Get Lifted” T-shirts and caps.
H2FLO Specifications
As soon as you open the box, you can tell it’s well-made. Perfectly nestled in shock-absorbing foam, you’ll find the following items:
- Spray
- Metal tip
- Glass Tip
- Plastic spout
- Steam Chamber
- Water chamber
- Replacement Gasket Kit
- Charger
- Grinder
- Cleaning Kit
A well-stocked box with that little extra touch—the acrylic grinder—which is always a nice surprise. What’s more, the grinder is of excellent quality for acrylic. One of the things that makes the H2FLO unique is the ability to add «extra» chambers to the classic vaporizer. This is an unmatched advantage over the competition.
The vaporizer takes about 3 hours to fully charge and allows you to vape for 2 to 3 hours. It has 3 temperature settings ranging from 185° to 225° to extract the desired molecules.
The chamber is made of ceramic and is designed for dry herbs only. This means you won’t be able to vaporize your concentrates with this vaporizer. For 710 enthusiasts, the FUSE is the way to go.
Vaporizer operation
The H2FLO’s simple operation makes it the ideal companion for those who don’t like having to press a bunch of buttons to adjust their vaporizers (though… some people actually do like that). First step: once your vaporizer is charged, unscrew the part covering the heating chamber. Fill it with your finely ground herb. The finer the grind, the more easily the molecules—THC, CBD, etc.—will be released.
Once your chamber is filled and screwed back on, you can choose your mouthpiece. You can choose between a simple metal or glass mouthpiece, a vapor chamber, a water chamber, or a combination of both. The choice of mouthpiece will mainly come down to convenience. The metal/glass mouthpiece is perfect if you’re taking your vaporizer on the go, as it looks just like an e-cigarette. The other chambers are more practical for home use.
Once you've made your selection, you can turn on your vaporizer by pressing the button three times. The LEDs will flash one after another so you can select your temperature:
- Blue: 185°
- Yellow: 215°
- Green 225°
When the LED color matches your desired temperature, press the button. The LED will turn red, indicating that the vaporizer is heating up. Once the red LED turns off and the LED changes to the color corresponding to your selected temperature, you can start vaping. You don’t need to press the button.
If, during your vape session, you wish to change temperature, simply press and hold the button, the LED will change color as you go along, and all you have to do is choose the one you want.
Once you're done using your H2FLO vaporizer, simply press the button three times to turn it off. Finally, if you want to check your battery level, press and hold the button while the device is off.
- Green: Battery at 100%
- Yellow: Battery at approx. 50%
- Red: Battery less than 20%
Steam quality
There are four different types of steam:
- Metal/glass end cap
- Steam Chamber
- Water chamber
- Both …
Depending on how you set up your H2FLO, it will produce vapor of varying quality. After testing all the attachments, our verdict is unequivocally in favor of the water chamber. Once this chamber is attached to your vaporizer, the vapor will be incomparably smooth. Plus, watching the chamber fill with vapor mixed with water bubbles is simply magnificent.
Metal/glass mouthpieces produce hotter vapor and are slightly more irritating at 215°. Still, they’re an excellent compromise for when you’re out and about and don’t want to carry around a vaporizer the size of a telescoping baton.
The vapor chamber concentrates the vapor so you don't lose the subtle aromas that emerge from the heating chamber.
Finally, it is possible to combine the vapor chamber and the water chamber. In our opinion, this isn’t necessary because the vapor becomes really «too light,» but it will be perfect for people who have never smoked before.
Overall Review of the H2FLO Vaporizer
This vaporizer, which we had never heard of in Europe before this year, is truly exceptional—both in terms of packaging and vapor quality. It’s head and shoulders above all the others we’ve tried so far. One last major advantage… its price, which at €220 places it among mid-range vaporizers. With this value for the money, there’s no reason to hesitate.
