In Denver, the party buses get into the weed business

Entrepreneurs Colorado finds new ways bringing cannabis into the 21st century. Since January 2nd, recreational cannabis enthusiasts can book a Party bus (buses that you book for 2 hours to party on while driving around town) where cannabis is allowed, even recommended. The Hello There Hopper will welcome those who desire consume cannabis legally while watching the city streets roll by the window. The vehicle, which is actually more of a limousine than a bus, welcomes all its clients with flashes and music.

«We've all ridden in limos before, people drink and consume alcohol in them. Why couldn't we provide the same experience for cannabis consumers?» wondered Brian Sherman, Chief Operating Officer at High There.

Since limousines have tinted windows, and are technically private property, the service is legal, according to a spokesperson for the Denver Office of Cannabis Policy. The first priority is the safety of Denver residents. There is no partition between the driver and the cannabis lounge, but the driver is, of course, not allowed to smoke.

The company hopes to grow rapidly, especially for certain events like the X-Games where they could serve as transportation.

This is the second product with which High There is helping cannabis smokers connect with each other. Earlier in 2015, the company had developed its dating app for smokers, Hi There!, the Tinder of weed, which can also be used to meet up with patients treated with cannabis.

The legalization of recreational cannabis in Colorado has been a major boost to the state’s economy, with over $40 million in taxes collected in the first year. And a whole host of new cannabis companies, such as High There, are further strengthening the economic potential of the’cannabis industry.
