The first hash vinyl to be produced
Vinyl records have been making a comeback for some time now. In 2016, vinyl sales were even stronger than digital sales in the UK, and reached their highest point in 28 years in the United States. Many artists have returned to the disc, including Rihanna, Drake, and Jay-Z.
But some groups went a little further. The group Slightly Stoopid created a record entirely made of hash. Two versions were pressed for their single «Dabbington» (ho, a reference to dab !), at a cost of 60,001 TP4T worth of bubble hash each, plus 10,001 TP4T to stamp and press the disc in hashish.
Unfortunately, the first two versions produced a sound described as «passable, then questionable,» respectively. And the potheads of Silverback Music, the team behind the KP and managing Slightly Stoopid,couldn't help but pilfer a few pieces of their own creation, rendering the first pressing of the record unusable.
«Originally, we wanted to raise awareness about legalization,» explains Jon Philipps of Silverback Music. But for now, it mainly plans to sell in dispensaries bubble hash under the name Slightly Stoopid, with a portion of the proceeds going to cancer research.
A third press is planned soon, which the group should eventually keep as a work of art or sell at auction for charity.
