New York: Cannabis ads hit the subways
The Big Apple goes green! Vireo Health, one of New York State's medical cannabis companies, has launched a medical cannabis campaign in the New York subway system. The campaign was launched last week in over 100 of the city's subway stations, a first for the medical cannabis industry.
Vireo Health was founded and is run by physician Dr. Kyle Kingsley. His goal is to provide patients with the best cannabis products and the highest quality care. The company is made up of doctors, horticulturists and scientists, all specialists in their field.
Last April, Vireo launched New York State's first home delivery service for medical cannabis. Residents of New York and its suburbs can have their weed delivered safely and conveniently, provided they have a medical prescription.
«Talk to your doctor about medical cannabis»
With this simple message, the company seeks to target potential medical cannabis customers in New York to encourage them to discuss medical cannabis with their primary care physician. The ad features four different posters depicting people of different ethnicities and ages. The advert aims to combat the stigma associated with the use of cannabis for medical purposes, as opposed to conventional medical care. This month, the number of patients in New York City stands at 20,000. This number is expected to continue to grow, as New York State has approved medical cannabis. for victims of post-traumatic stress disorder.
Cannabis ads in the subway are a first in the state, although in 2014 the company Weedmaps, the tripadvisor of weed had bought a $50,000 advertising spot on the Time Square screens.
In addition to these awareness-raising ads, the company intends to expand the state's medical cannabis program by increasing the number of physicians enrolled in the program.
