What is a dab rig and how does it work?
The dabbing has largely changed the way cannabis is consumed. Still discreet and confidential just a few years ago, dabs are increasingly popular with patients whose medical condition requires large doses of THC, or with recreational users looking to consume without combustion and get the most out of their cannabis. terpenes and other cannabinoids.
The best way to consume cannabis concentrates is with a dab rig. The process may seem complicated to some, but it's actually quite simple. A little learning is required, but once you've mastered it, all that's left to do is enjoy.
What is a dab rig?
A dab rig is a water pipe or bong that usually comes with a nail (a nail) and a dome. The dome captures the steam and returns it to the dab rig. Today, some nails can be used without a dome. domeless and circulate steam through a system of holes in the nail. Nails can be made of glass, titanium (the most common) or ceramic.
Dabs users heat the nail to a high temperature with a blowtorch (like those used for crème brûlée) and leave it to cool for between 10 and 30 seconds. They then place their concentrate on the nail with a dabber (a small spatula). The concentrate then comes into contact with the surface of the previously heated nail, boils, liquefies and vaporizes. When steam begins to form, it's time to inhale.
A dab mat, a mat placed under the dab rig, is sometimes used to protect the surface from any residue that might run off the nail.
Other accessories such as adapters can be used to facilitate the use of dab rigs.
High-temperature dabbing
There are two dabbing methods. High-temperature dabbing is the simplest. The concentrate is applied to the nail after it has cooled for around ten seconds. It evaporates quickly and is consumed all at once. Some people find this method rather harsh on the lungs and throat, and prefer low-temperature dabbing instead.
Low-temperature dabbing
This method is a little more complex, but generally expresses more of the plant's flavors with a softer vapor. It is almost always done with a nail and a dome. The nail needs to be heated, then cooled for a longer period (between 30 and 45 seconds, depending). Once the concentrate has settled and stopped bubbling, place the dome on the nail until it has evaporated. You can then inhale. Low-temp enthusiasts praise this method for the quality of the aromas it produces.
