The first «diesel and cannabis» service stations open in Colorado
With our busy schedules, we like to only have to go to one place for supplies. Here's the Colorado version.
In Colorado Springs, a city of 400,000 inhabitants south of Denver, a new kind of gas station has come into being: two dispensaries from the chain Native Roots have teamed up with service stations to enable consumers to refuel with petrol and cannabis. Colorado law prohibiting dispensaries from selling anything other than cannabis or accessories, the two stores have separate entrances. The second dispensary opened on November 22, while the first opened on November 5.
«It's just a convenient way to combine two buying intentions in the same place,» said Native Roots spokesperson Tia Mattson, responding to questions from KOAA, a local newspaper. The channel Native Roots has a total of 13 dispensaries around Denver, Aspen and Colorado Springs.
Patients who choose Native Roots as their referral dispensary will benefit from a free tank of gas and a discount card that will earn them 15 cents per gallon of gas for every dispensary purchase. The dispensary also sells themed t-shirts, souvenirs and accessories.
The dispensary is currently only accessible to medical patients, while the gas station is of course open to all. This new-style petrol station is just one of the many businesses that have sprung up as a result of the various legalization of cannabis in the United States. These businesses, like Mini joints Mini J, are often developed in response to new smoking habits.
The story doesn't say whether this new gas station sells Sour Diesel.
