Sour Diesel, sometimes referred to as Sour D, is a sativa which owes its name to its pungent diesel aroma. This variety is known for its fast-acting, energizing effects, mainly on the brain.
Medical consumers often use it to combat depression, stress and pain.
This variety appeared in the '90s in the hands of breeder Chem Dog. It is said to be descended from Chemdawg, of Northern Lights and Skunk. Although there's a little indica in the mix, you won't smell it. Recreational users enjoy it in the evening.
For recreational purposes, this strain is used mainly for stress. Some sufferers of attention or anxiety disorders also use it, but in high doses, Sour Diesel tends to titillate paranoia.
The THC content of Sour D is generally quite high, between 19 and 25%. If you're not used to it, take it easy. And if you've never smoked before, skip it. It may not be a pleasant first experience because of its sativa effects.
