New luxury bud and breakfast upsets Colorado's cannabis tourism scene
Colorado has just opened its first cannabis-oriented vacation spot. Named CannaCamp, The place offers everything you'd want from a vacation: seclusion, comfort, relaxation and unwinding. With the added bonus of being able to smoke marijuana.
The 170-acre resort, located in Durango, Colorado, belongs to the same owner as «Bud + Breakfast», a concept that combines a night in a hotel with a bag of weed. But CannaCamp is more ambitious, with activities ranging from painting classes («Canvas and cannabis») to yoga («Cannabis yoga») to the THC Fusion cooking class. Meals are specially designed to be combined with weed, and a waiter is on hand to advise on the best combinations of food and pot.
The resort's chalets can accommodate up to 40 people, with one, two or three bedrooms. Smoking is permitted everywhere except in the houses themselves for safety reasons. Rates start at 395$ per night per person, so are aimed at consumers with a bit of means. CannaCamp had planned for stays of at least 3 days, but has cancelled this restriction.
The flaw? Despite the legalization of cannabis in Colorado, The resort cannot supply weed directly to its guests. But we're sure the camp's concierges will be able to direct guests to local dispensaries.
