Forget breweries and other trendy wine bars: Colorado opens its first weedery«
It was only a matter of time. Like wine-tasting bars or Parisian hyped brasseries, Colorado will open its first «weedery» in early 2016: the Colorado Cannabis Ranch. The only difference is that consumers will not be able to taste the products, in accordance with the Colorado legislation which prohibits smoking in public. What more than a simple dispensary then?
The project, estimated at 35 million $, will include a huge greenhouse open to the public, a restaurant, bar, gift store, dispensary and amphitheater that will host artists' performances. Above all, this is the first time that cannabis cultivation will take place in a public space. Although recreational use is permitted in Colorado, Oregon, Washington D.C., Alaska and Washington State, cultivation still takes place largely out of sight. In addition to safety concerns, the growth of cannabis plants is easily influenced by external contaminants that any individual can bring along.

For the time being, cannabis tourism is still in full expansion, in the image of bud and breakfast privés,Christian Hageseth, the entrepreneur behind Cannabis Ranch, has lofty goals and plans to expand rapidly outside Colorado. He is currently in the process of raising 100 million $ to conquer Nevada, Massachusetts, California and the state of Washingtion. On the revenue side, a visit to the weedery will cost between 5 and 10$ per person, and visitors will receive credit for a souvenir at the end of the tour.
Like many cannabis enthusiasts, Christian Hageseth wants to get straight to the point and use Cannabis Ranch as an opportunity to inform and educate the public about the legal marijuana industry. We wish him every success!
