8 cannabis trends for 2021
Cannabis users who have access to a legal market have a wide range of strains to explore in 2021. With the arrival of a large number of new players in the United States, where one in four citizens now lives in a state where cannabis is legal, lBreeding is constantly accelerating, and a visit to a certified breeding facility offers a glimpse of some enticing results.
Leafly, a leading magazine in the United States, gives us a look at the 8 cannabis strains that will define 2021, with one guiding principle: frosty and tasty.
Gushers
Gushers is a cross between Gelato #41 and a Triangle Kush. The Gushers won a trophy at the 2018 Emerald Cup and continues to gain a foothold across the United States. California dispensaries Connected Cannabis are a good place to legally try Gushers, although others grow it as well. It is sometimes sold under the name Fruit Gushers (a reference to the eponymous fruit candies) or White Gushers.
Its distinctive scent comes from a trio of terpenes: limonene (lemon), beta-caryophyllene, and linalool (floral). Regular users report feeling relaxed, happy, and euphoric when using Gushers—also known as Fruit Gushers and White Gushers—to manage stress and depression.
Gelonade
Like Gushers, Gelonade first appeared on the West Coast before spreading throughout the United States.
The Californians from Connected Cannabis created Gelonade by crossing a Lemon Tree with a Gelato #41. On the palate, the lemon flavor blends with the biscuit and gas notes of the iconic Gelato created by Sherbinski.
Sherblato
A true relic from 2016, the Sherblato is expanding its reach as Connected Cannabis is expanding outside California. The Sherblato, sometimes called Sherbacio, is a cross between two classics: Sherbert and Gelato. So we find some Pink Panties, the Girl Scout Cookies and Sunset Sherbert in the same vein. Like its cousins, expect Sherblato to have a creamy aroma and flavor of berries and gas. Watch out for takeoff!
Apple Fritter
Apple-flavored varieties are starting to flood the U.S. market. In fact, the Apple Fritter was already available in California before 2018. Its breeder, «Lumpy,» worked on a Sour Apple (Diesel x C99) and an Animal Cookies (GSC x OG). He didn't stop there and released Cherry Jane, and soon LAX (Apple Fritter x LA Snow) and a sativa called Sour Apple Haze (Super Silver Haze x Sour Apple), which promises fruity aromas.
Kush Mints
For a burst of freshness, strains like The Menthol and Mint Cookie will give you a cool, icy thrill—though for some, that might be followed by a rush of heat. In the same vein, Kush Mints is a cross between Animal Mints (Animal Cookies (GSC x Fire OG) and SinMint Cookies (GSC x Blue Power)) and a classic Bubba Kush.
She has already produced offspring with LA Kush Cake (Wedding Cake x Kush Mints) and Pancakes (London Pound Cake #73 x Kush Mints #11).
Jungle Cake
Bred by Seed Junky Genetics, Jungle Cake is a cross between White Fire #43 (also known as Wifi43; Fire OG x The White) and Wedding Cake (Triangle Kush x Animal Mints).
A potent strain, Jungle Cake combines subtle aromas of sweet ice cream with a nice, strong high.
Garanimals
The Cannarado breeders have released their beast. Designed for fans of Cookies, Garanimals is the result of a cross between’Animal Cookies and the cherry and grape flavors of the Grape Pie (Cherry Pie x Grape Stomper). Garanimals is an evening strain—dense, resinous, and fragrant—that pairs perfectly with Netflix and a fridge nearby.
Ice Cream Cake
Ice Cream Cake, a cross between Wedding Cake (also known as Triangle Mints #23) and Gelato #33, is also a creation by Seed Junky Genetics. The strain is thick, sweet, and high in THC, with a petroleum-like aftertaste.
