The Cherry Pie is a variety from the West Coast of the United States, popularized by Cookies, which is only transmitted by clone. Many people believe that Cherry Pie is a cross between a Durban Poison and a Granddaddy Purple. We recently learned that it was in fact an F1 Durban cross.
This variety is a predominantly indica hybrid, known for its high and its intense bodily sensations, which are particularly suitable for muscle spasms, stress or insomnia.
Cherry Pie won't slam you like other snitches. Instead, expect prolonged functional sedation.
This variety can be recognized by its signature fragrance, a blend of berries, cherry pie and hints of earth. Cherry Pie is powerful but not too heavy. THC levels range from 15 to 18%, making it a good choice for first-time users.
Cherry Pie appearance, flavour and aroma
Cherry Pie flowers are small to medium-sized and have a bud structure characteristic of other predominantly indica varieties.
The tightly coiled leaves are densely packed together and crossed by vibrant orange pistils. Leaves appear mainly moss-green, although some phenotypes show flashes of purple; the latter color is due to high concentrations of pigments in the plant's genes (supposedly passed on by Grandaddy Purple) that highlight colors other than green when stimulated by cold temperatures during the growth process.
The colorful flowers are covered with translucent white trichomes, giving the small heads a silvery sheen and a very resinous texture.
When Cherry Pie is properly dried, a sweet, rich cherry flavor emerges from the buds, accented by light herbal and floral notes. More dank and hashy notes persist underneath, and are brought to the fore when the buds are crushed or opened.
When burned, Cherry Pie gives off a mild smoke that's easy to inhale and, when exhaled, has a toasty, biscuity taste with a hint of sweet fruit. Smokers should bear in mind that this variety can be particularly pungent; those concerned about discretion should take all necessary precautions.
Effects of Cherry Pie
Cherry Pie has a slow-rising effect, starting with a gradual sensation of relaxation. At first, smokers may feel a slight pressure in the sinuses. After several minutes, Cherry Pie dissolves tension in the heart and limbs and facilitates deep, easy breathing.
Consumers can feel as if all light, short-term worries and stresses have evaporated. This pleasant sensation can be the perfect accompaniment to a cup of coffee in the morning or a cocktail in the evening. As the high progresses, the sativa side of this strain emerges, working on the user's perceptions. Visual or auditory stimuli can take on a new intensity, and otherwise mundane thoughts can seem distinctly more interesting.
This is not to say that Cherry Pie deviates easily into paranoid, overly cerebral territory. The strain's relaxing indica base allows most smokers to get carried away by the trip, while encouraging creative, analytical work. Because it acts on both body and mind, Cherry Pie is good for activities that involve both, such as video games and exercise. In the right context, it can also be a powerful aphrodisiac.
For medical cannabis patients, Cherry Pie has both psychological and physiological applications. It can help people suffering from anxiety, depression and PTSD to spend their time in a more present and reflective way. Its unique combination of mental acuity and physical relaxation can also help people with attention deficit disorders to focus on a single task. Anti-inflammatory properties can relieve everything from headaches to chronic pain associated with illness. In sufficient doses, Cherry Pie's sedative tendencies can also relieve insomnia.
