A new weed series from the creator of Big Bang Theory
Deadline reports that Chuck Lorre, the brilliant mind behind the series «Mike & Molly,» «Mom,» and «The Big Bang Theory,» is planning a new series about marijuana. More specifically, the plot will revolve around a dispensary in cannabis in Colorado and the employees and customers who spend their time inside.
Chuck Lorre isn't launching this series just any old time. The Stereotypes About Cannabis Smokers are gradually fading away, especially for an American audience where 52% from the Americans are in favor of changing cannabis laws toward legalization. U.S. states are gradually passing laws on the medical use of cannabis, and penalties for possession are becoming less severe in the States Where Cannabis Is Not Yet Legal, smoking weed doesn't seem as much of a social deviance as it used to.
The series will revolutionize the genre. Rather than focusing on an illegal business, as was the case in Weeds Or, in one of the story arcs of *How to Make It in America*, the series will focus on a legitimate business. The characters won’t be drug dealers, so they won’t have to worry about a DEA raid shutting down their operations. Chuck Lorre is known for his hilarious series that come out of nowhere. His current series, *Mom*, follows a mother-daughter duo who are both trying to overcome their addictions.
No date or cast has been announced yet. The series is likely to air on CBS, although Netflix is also in the running.
