United Kingdom: first store dedicated to cannabidiol
In the town of Burnley, located in East Lancashire, the first clinic dedicated to cannabidiol (CBD) opened its doors on Tuesday, August 9, 2017, according to a local newspaper.
Named CBDRus, this dispensary, which specializes in the non-intoxicating component of cannabis, is considered the first British dispensary of its kind to open today.

Scott Hardcare is the owner of this first CBD-dedicated dispensary. He has already been selling his CBD products on a website for 18 months. From now on, he will sell cannabidiol as a dietary supplement in his own store. He explains that «people tend to think the worst when they hear the word «cannabis.‘ But I encourage them to look up my products online to see the benefits of CBD for themselves.'.
The CBD products available for sale include candies, CBD e-liquids for vaping, oils, and tinctures.
«I am familiar with the wide range of’benefits of CBD »which can help people around the world. I wouldn’t say it’s addictive,« Hardacre said. »It’s a natural thing; the way the government views cannabidiol is nonsensical.”
The cannabidiol is legal in the United Kingdom and is one of the main components of cannabis. Unlike its cousin, THC, ...it doesn't get you high and is used to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and treat serious conditions such as epilepsy, diabetes, and arthritis.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Theresa May has formally opposed any cannabis reform in the United Kingdom. This is not the view of the Labour MP Paul Flynn, who last month urged the British public to come and smoke cannabis in the Houses of Parliament in order to «send a message» about the government’s drug policy.
