Launch of a fact-finding mission on cannabis in France
The «mission d'information commune relative à la réglementation et à l'impact des différents usages du cannabis», which we'll abbreviate as MI Cannabis, held a press conference this Tuesday, January 14, 2020.

After recalling the background to its creation, the IM's general rapporteur, Jean-Baptiste Moreau, outlined the subjects that the 6 commissions grouped within this mission would cover, in order:
- therapeutic cannabis, in anticipation of a future national medical cannabis production chain
- the industrial hemp sector, with an update on traditional uses
- hemp for well-being, to enable French entrepreneurs to work with CBD flowers for raw use or extraction
- recreational cannabis, highlighting the French situation in the light of foreign examples
The composition of the cannabis information mission We already had 33 members of parliament from all parties, but we still had to appoint the executive committee. So we have :

- Vice-presidents : Agnès FIRMIN LE BODO, Philippe LATOMBE, Eric POULLIAT and Michèle VICTORY
- Secretaries: Ugo BERNALICIS, Moeatai BROTHERSON, François-Michel LAMBERT and Eric PAUGET
- General reporter: Jean-Baptiste MOREAU
- Rapporteur for the «Therapeutic» section: Emmanuelle FONTAINE-DOMEIZEL
- Rapporteur for the «well-being» section: Ludovic MENDES
- Rapporteur for the «recreation» section: Caroline JANVIER
Cannabis information mission timetable
The parliamentary information mission will deliver its initial conclusions in the second half of 2020. They will consist of an assessment of the current situation and the issues involved in the various uses of cannabis and the hemp industry, in the light of European and international examples, in North America for example.
