An internship to develop therapeutic cannabis in Yvelines
Editorial message: the internship was filled at the beginning of 2020 and is no longer relevant. No need to apply 🙂
The Seine-Aval local action group (GAL) territory, in the northern part of the Yvelines-Nord département, is looking for an intern to carry out a bibliographical study on regulations, production methods and the interest of cooperatives in the potential development of a therapeutic cannabis sector in the département.
The LEADER program, tasked with uniting actions to develop the rural economy, has the possibility of supporting local pilot projects until 2021. Like de la Creuse which has already taken a position on the subject, Yvelines wants to measure the economic opportunity for farmers of seeing the development of therapeutic cannabis cultivation.
The French National Assembly has authorized a experimentation with medical cannabis in France. It is due to start in 2020 and last 2 years, with a report at the end of the experiment legalizing (or not) medical cannabis for all patients who could benefit from it.
As France has no domestic cannabis production facilities, cannabis or cannabis-based products will be imported.
In particular, the trainee will be responsible for outlining potential changes in regulations. We are looking for people with 3 years' higher education in agriculture / agri-food / regional planning, with an interest in rural life, agriculture and public action. Good oral communication and writing skills, with a strong ability to summarize, are also required. Reading Newsweed is a definite plus 😉
