Florent Pagny «helped» enormously by cannabis during chemotherapy

During an episode of the Contre-Addictions podcast, Florent Pagny opened up about his medical use of cannabis since the announcement of his cancer.

Since January 2022, Florent Pagny has been dealing with the effects of chemotherapy for more than two and a half years. Throughout this difficult period, Pagny has turned to cannabis to help him manage the debilitating side effects of his treatment.

«Actually, we shouldn’t forget that this product is a plant. It’s not a chemical formula—it’s a plant. Nature created it. This plant has healing properties. So, we’ve been talking about recreational use for a while now, but I can tell you that the medical side of it—how it helped me—is just insane.»

Although chemotherapy is crucial in the fight against cancer, it comes with a range of side effects, including severe nausea, loss of appetite, and sleep disturbances. For Pagny, cannabis has provided significant relief from these symptoms. He describes cannabis as a the perfect complement to chemotherapy regimens, which he compares to a «truly rotten juice that destroys every cell.».

Beyond his own positive experience, Pagny acknowledges that cannabis for «recreational» use is not suitable for everyone. He emphasizes that while cannabis has been beneficial for him, it is not for everyone. He also makes a clear distinction between medical and recreational use, and condemns the’cannabis use among teenagers. On the other hand, he recommends the therapeutic potential of cannabis to as many people as possible.
