The World Cannabis March 2017
For the sixteenth time in France, cannabis user and patient advocacy groups are organizing the Global Cannabis March.
Meeting Venues in France
This year, the dates for the March differ between Paris and the provinces. The Global Cannabis March will take place on Saturday, April 29, in Paris. The gathering is set for 2 p.m. at Place de la Bastille, from where the parade will march to the sound of music to Place de la République. For the first time, Newsweed will be parading its own float with plenty of surprises for those who make the trip. The official Facebook event is here.
In the provinces, rallies will be held in front of city halls on May 13. Rennes will have the honor of hosting two marches on different dates. Residents of Rennes can celebrate World Smokers« Day on April 20 starting at 4:20 p.m. at the Place de la Mairie. The program includes a debate titled »Why the War on Drugs Is a Failure.” It’s recommended to arrive a little early to observe the tradition at exactly 4:20 p.m. The second gathering will take place on May 13 starting at 2:00 p.m.
In Chartres, the meeting is set for 2:00 p.m. on May 13 at Place Pasteur. The march will set off at 2:30 p.m. toward André Gagnon Park, where a sound system—set up in advance—will liven up the late afternoon. Follow the Facebook page For more information.
In Poitiers, the World March will take place on May 13 at 2:00 p.m. at the Place d’Armes. Consumer advocacy groups will have an information booth there to call for the legalization of cannabis, the right to grow one’s own cannabis, the freedom to use cannabis for medical purposes, and the right to legally consume hemp regardless of its cannabinoid content. More info here.
