Miley Cyrus takes a break from cannabis
The 24-year-old singer is currently making a comeback with a new single dedicated to her fiancé, Liam Hemsworth. And to mark her return, Miley Cyrus gave an interview to Billboard magazine in which she revealed that she has stopped using all psychoactive substances for the past three weeks.
New album, new Miley
For the release of her sixth album, Miley Cyrus has clearly decided to simplify things her image as a Disney actress gone wrong. First of all, she admits to having «fallen back in love with her fiancée.» Her first single, «Malibu,» will be entirely dedicated to him.
Even more surprising: »I haven’t smoked weed »For the past three weeks—something that had never happened to me before. I don't do drugs anymore, I don't drink anymore—I'm completely clean now.» She continues: »This is something I wanted to do on my own. If someone had told me, »Stop smoking,» I wouldn’t have done it. This was the right time for me. I know exactly where I stand now.” She does not specify, however, whether this is permanent or temporary.
In the process, she takes a swipe at the entire community of cannabis smokers who, however, considered her a pro-weed activist. »I like to surround myself with people who make me a better person, help me grow, and encourage me to be more open-minded.”. And I noticed that it wasn't the people who were high. »I want to be clear and precise, because I know where I want to be."
Snoop Dogg must be having a good laugh from up on his high horse. Back in January, he had provided his Merry Jane weed for Liam Hemsworth's birthday… at Miley's request.
There are two possible scenarios:
- Either she complies with the ultimatum her boyfriend gave her regarding its consumption of cannabis
- Or maybe she's just adopting a new marketing strategy for the duration of an album, just to clean up her image a bit.
His fans, however, will not forget his escapades won't be forgotten anytime soon.
