Marina Kaye speaks out in favor of cannabis legalization
On the CStar program Le Van, young singer Marina Kay spoke out in favor of legalizing cannabis.
The 18-year-old singer was invited by Enora Malagré to appear on CSTAR's Le Van program. The author of «Homeless», and more recently in collaboration with Soprano on «Mon Everest», raises a rather significant point about French youth.
The two ladies sit down in a bar in the 11th arrondissement of Paris for a «secret confidences» interview. While Marina Kay understandably refuses to talk about her first sexual encounter, she answers point-blank when asked about drugs.
What this sequence tells us:
- Even young French stars use cannabis. She makes no mention of any other drugs. Marina Kaye speaks freely, as an adult, and from her reaction it even seems quite commonplace to smoke a few firecrackers.
- Enora Malagré, a talented journalist, does not question Marina Kaye's comments.
- Marina Kaye's audience hears her talk about cannabis, but sees her consume a pint of beer
For an 18-year-old star to confess to smoking cannabis on camera is a first, and a brave one at that. It's quite funny, however, how this statement is taken up, when an 18-year-old girl is invited by a hostess to drink a pint of beer during an interview. We didn't see any «Marina Kaye is pro-beer» headlines. We're well aware that the legal status of the two substances is different, but still...
