Los Cauces: the first cannabis reserve in southern Argentina
Patagonia’s first cannabis reserve has opened its doors in the Epuyén Valley, in Chubut, offering a unique cannabis tourism experience. In a setting where nature displays all its majesty, Los Cauces presents itself as a sanctuary for lovers of cannabis and nature, offering not only lodging but also a deep immersion in the culture of Cannabis Sativa at high altitude.

This initiative, the result of a collaboration between Biocann and Cannabis Farm&Lab, and supported by Argentine institutions renowned institutions such as INASE, SENASA, CONICET, and the Argentine Ministry of Health, stands out for its commitment to research and sustainability. The reserve covers 12 hectares of Patagonian Andean forest, strategically located at the confluence of two meltwater streams, which not only guarantees a picturesque landscape but also provides an ideal ecosystem for cannabis cultivation.
Los Cauces takes advantage of its location on the 42nd parallel, a latitude that—due to its climatic and geographic characteristics—is ideal for the growth of Cannabis sativa plants. The altitude, soil fertility, and Patagonian climate thus create perfect conditions, where pure air and mineral-rich water nourish the crops and ensure high-quality production.

The Los Cauces experience goes beyond culture. Visitors can enjoy guided tours Monday through Saturday, where they’ll have the opportunity to learn about every aspect of the plant—from cultivation to cannabis research—as well as immerse themselves in the tranquility of the natural surroundings. The reserve also offers the chance to explore the Comarca Andina del Paralelo 42 and its natural wonders, such as the Cascada Solitaria waterfall, the Pirque and Coihue hills, and the waters of Lake Epuyén.
Cauces also has three cabins equipped to accommodate up to six people, where visitors can fully immerse themselves in the cannabis experience: Casa Indica, Kush Haus, and Haze Haus offer all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay, including guided tours of the crops.
