Mexico's ex-president now works in the medical cannabis industry

The Canadian company Khiron Life Sciences, a Latin American market leader based in Colombia, has appointed former Mexican President Vicente Fox Quesada to its Board of Directors. He will act as strategic advisor and ambassador for the company's brand and interests throughout Latin America.

The former president is an active member of the fight to legalize cannabis. This year, he joined the board of directors of the magazine High Times and manages the Centro Fox which co-organizes the CannaMexico summits, sponsored by Khiron Life Sciences.

A strategic choice for access to the Mexican market

Medical cannabis is already legal in Mexico since last year. The recent accession to power of Mexico's new president, AMLO, also augurs well for the future. policy change about the recreational use of cannabis and a possible green wave in Latin America.

The former president's business and community investment, as well as his regional reputation, make him the ideal candidate to join the flourishing market Mexico and Latin America. As part of its regional strategy, the company wishes to establish a subsidiary in Mexico and apply for production licenses. It already holds all the necessary licenses for the cultivation, production, distribution and export of medical cannabis in Colombia, where its main operations are located.

Vicente Fox will be responsible for reviewing the regulatory and legal framework for medical cannabis in Mexico, and for assessing the needs of a market comprising some 11.7 million potential patients. This appointment is subject to approval by the Toronto Stock Exchange.
