Apple removes all vaping-related apps from its store
In repercussion of the THC product adulteration crisis, Apple suddenly removed all nicotine and cannabis vaping apps, leaving some users without a way to control their device temperatures.
The removal happened from the store on Friday, November 15th, ending the download and sale of 181 applications from vape ranging from temperature control software and other vaporizer parameters to news, social media, and specialized websites on the subject.
The ban will directly affect the use of vaporizers from brands such as Pax and G-Pen, which allow users to adjust temperature settings, lighting colors, and power consumption modes via compatible applications.
A position corporate and superfluous
Apple explained that its rules anti-vape were a direct reaction to the country's current health crisis. However, while the numerous respiratory accidents stemmed from the use of black market and adulterated products containing a specific additive, Apple decided to eliminate an entire category of products from their store.
«We are committed to ensuring the App Store is a trusted place for customers, especially young people, to download apps,» the statement said. «We continuously evaluate apps and consult the latest factual data to determine user health risks. Recently, CDC experts at the’American Heart Association A variety of lung damage and deaths have been attributed to vaping products, even going so far as to call the spread of these devices a public health crisis. We agree with this and have updated our guidelines to state that apps encouraging or facilitating the use of these products are not allowed. As of today, these apps are no longer available for download.»
Applications already downloaded will continue to function as expected, but new users will no longer be able to download them for the time being. Or by switching to Android.
