CBA Globes: A Frenchman in the 100 most influential people for cannabis
Since 2011, the Cannabis Business Awards have recognized cannabis professionals, pioneers and thought leaders who have influenced the industry and innovation around cannabis.
Open to submissions from the public, the final list for 2020 selected the 100 most influential people for cannabis. And while it's not surprising to see some of the names, only one Frenchman was singled out: Frenchy Cannoli, a hashish master by trade.
Today, Frenchy is renowned for his art of handling cannabis trichomes and turning them into exceptional resins. He also shares his know-how at hash-making workshops, like the one we followed in Barcelona. In 2015, we interviewed him in its temple balls in California. Less (re)known at the time, he has since established his name as a brand and today supplies several Californian dispensaries with hashish. He has also built an industrial tool to optimize trichome separation from just-harvested plants or dried flowers.
The other award winners come from all walks of life:
- Historic activists: Steve DeAngelo, Dennis Peron, Brownie Mary, the Dagga Couple, Jack Herer
- Grower: Jorge Cervantes, DJ Short, Kyle Kushman, Subcool, The Brotherhood of Eternal Love
- Professionals : Arjan Roskam, Mila Jansen, Whoopi Goldberg, Ben Dronkers, Danny Danko, Don & Aaron from DNA Genetics
- Artists : Snoop Dogg, Cypress Hill, Peter Sosh, Bob Marley et fils, Method Man & Redman, Louis Armstrong, Dr. Dre
- Athletes: Michael Phelps, Hugh Hefner (joke inside)
Charlotte Figi, recently disappeared, was also rewarded.
