Whoopi Goldberg

Caryn Elaine Johnson aka Whoopi Goldberg is an American actress and producer born on November 13, 1955 in Manhattan, New York.

By the age of 16, she was addicted to heroin. She dropped out of high school a year later, and had to find work to support her family, who were in dire financial straits. She meets Alvin Martin, a drug specialist who helps her cure her addiction. She married him at the age of 18 and had a daughter, Alexandra. The newlyweds decided to settle in California.
