Equilibre CBD joins Canadian cannabis group Fuga
The Fuga Group, a Canadian cannabis company, has acquired the French brand Équilibre. In an industry where collaboration and innovation are the keys to success, the merger of the two brands embodies this spirit
A story of passion and cannabis
Initiated during a trade mission to Quebec in May 2022, the partnership between FUGA and Balance emerged as a strategic response to the dynamic nature of the CBD market. Québec International and Cosmetic Valley played a central role in bringing these two complementary brands together, fostering an environment where mutual growth and expansion could thrive.
Équilibre, a company operating in the French CBD market, recognized the opportunity to accelerate its growth by partnering with FUGA to expand its presence in the CBD market in France and beyond.
FUGA, which has already established a presence in Germany under the Avaay brand, views this partnership as a gateway to a second European market. The goal is ambitious but clear: to propel their expansion onto the international stage and emerge as a leading force in the cultivation of high-end hemp and cannabis products. This mission is built on the pillars of sustainable and responsible organic production, where knowledge, science, education, and credibility converge to shape a new era in the legal cannabis sector.
Behind this partnership lie the personal stories of Philippe Laperrière and Léa Ruellan, the driving forces behind FUGA and Équilibre, respectively. Philippe’s journey began after a mountain biking accident in 2018, when cannabis became his ally in recovering from a severe head injury and a concussion. FUGA was founded with the mission of championing the plant’s therapeutic potential, while integrating social and environmental considerations into its cultivation practices.
Léa, for her part, discovered the benefits of CBD while seeking relief from premenstrual dysphoric disorder. Her personal experience inspired her to explore the untapped potential of cannabis, which led to the creation of Équilibre. The partnership between these two visionaries reflects a commitment to innovation and creativity in the highly competitive cannabis industry.
Equilibre CBD products sold at the SQDC
Philippe Laperrière emphasizes the importance of innovation and creativity in the competitive cannabis industry, stating: “That is exactly what FUGA and Équilibre do, and thanks to our partnership, we are confident we will reach new heights.” The group aims to become one of the most influential players by offering a diverse range of high-quality products to an increasingly discerning customer base.
Équilibre, now part of the Fuga Group, has reached a major milestone by becoming the first French brand to be sold in Quebec. Through the Société Québécoise Du Cannabis (SQDC), it now offers CBD flowers containing up to 21% CBD and less than 1% THC, as well as a 1-gram pre-roll made entirely of CBD flowers.
