Houseplant and OCB collaborate on a collection of rolling leaves and pre-rolled cones
Houseplant, the cannabis brand founded by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and Michael Mohr, and OCB, the famous French brand of rolling paper, have announced the upcoming launch of Houseplant by OCB.
This collaboration, which will be available to consumers starting February 16 on Houseplant.com and in stores across the United States and Canada this spring, will, according to the press release, «cannabis consumers to enhance their smoking experience with a line of sustainable, meticulously crafted rolling papers and cones made from bamboo, brown rice, and classic varieties.»
The combination of product curation and French quality
Houseplant It sells both products developed in-house—because the founders wanted to bring them to life—and a selection of the best products they could find. Houseplant is a leader in its category as a company lifestyle rooted in cannabis, setting a high standard for beautifully designed products for the homes and daily lives of people who want to elevate their cannabis experience.
OCB has enjoyed a worldwide reputation as a premier brand of rolling paper for generations and is now owned by Republic Brands.
Driven by the desire to taste the plant rather than the paper, Houseplant and OCB have identified this partnership as an opportunity to educate consumers and fill a huge gap in the rolling paper market with a line of high-quality products.
«From the very first time Don and I spoke, the potential of what we could achieve together was clear,» said Michael Mohr, co-founder and CEO of Houseplant. «Aligning OCB’s best-in-class paper products with Houseplant’s authority in the cannabis space creates a winning combination that will resonate with consumers and become the simple, reliable choice for rolling papers and pre-rolled joints.»
Made from ethically sourced and responsibly harvested fibers, the new Houseplant by OCB product line will feature ultra-thin rolling papers and cones in three unique varieties, including:
- Bamboo: The perfect sustainable alternative—bamboo fibers are strong and can be used to make durable, unbleached rolling paper that burns slowly and evenly, with a clean, almost flavorless finish.
- Brown Rice: Made with rice from the protected wetlands of the Camargue Delta in France, these are the only papers made with real rice fibers blended with organic hemp from Champagne, offering a smooth and silky burning experience
- Classic: Made by French artisans using sustainable, FSC-certified wood fibers, these premium-quality white rolling papers—like all OCB papers—are free of dyes and chlorine, allowing you to enjoy the natural flavor of the smoke
«Houseplant is synonymous with elegant, well-designed products. Their dedication to their craft and respect for their consumers are qualities we hold in high regard at OCB,» said Mr. Levin, CEO of Republic Brands.
«The launch of Houseplant by OCB represents a true partnership between two companies that are masters in their respective fields and offers the opportunity to provide a selection of carefully curated artisanal rolling papers for consumers who care enough to smoke only the best.»
Seth Rogen echoes this enthusiasm. «Going to France and seeing the highest-quality rolling papers being made from start to finish was literally a dream come true for me,» said Seth Rogen. «We were blown away by the process, and we’re very happy to have found a partner who cares as much as we do about giving cannabis smokers the premium experience they’ve always deserved.»
OCB is one of the few companies in the world to manufacture its paper from start to finish, beginning with sustainably harvested fibers grown in France, such as bamboo, rice straw, organic hemp, flax, and FSC-certified wood. These fibers are turned into paper pulp and expertly processed into large rolls of ultra-thin paper, which are then sent to OCB’s notebook manufacturing plant in Perpignan, France, for finishing. All products use an exclusive blend of natural, vegan, non-GMO, and responsibly harvested acacia gums.
