Amnesia

The coffeeshop Amnesia is renowned for its gourmet menu and friendly staff. Located along the pretty Herengracht canal and not far from the Grey Area, You'll easily find it by the smell in the surrounding streets. It used to be called Whootsie Tootsie.

Amnesia is often calm and quiet, although it can occasionally fill up with tourists and locals. Note here that you can only go there for their milk shakes, which are even better with a little foncedalle.

The lounge interior features large banquettes, a rarity in coffees. The restaurant's menu is less extensive than that of the cannabis products, with dishes to satisfy both small and large appetites.

On the weed front, many of the winners of the Cannabis Cup from Barney's Farm. The product range has an impact on prices, where you won't find anything for less than €13 a gram. LSD (an old-fashioned skunk), Real Amnesia Haze (a good slap) and Dr. Grinspoon, ideal for connoisseurs, are our favourites. The latter spends 13 to 14 weeks flowering, with small harvests. Its honeyed aromas provide a powerful high and multiply sensations. A few organic varieties are also available.

On the hash front, there are just as many winners, with Triple X at €30 a gram, Caramelo and Nepali Pollen (€16 a gram).

L'Amnesia will scare off even the lightest purse, but the quality of its products is worth the detour in the end. What's more, you can explore the Jordaan district on your way out, and browse the many restaurants, bars and boutiques that fill the area.
