The Plug East

The Plug East coffeeshop is located at Eerste Oosterparkstraat 47 in the Weesperzijde district, in the heart of Amsterdam-Oost. It occupies the premises of the former Speakeasy - an address that had made a name for itself among regulars in the east of the city before joining The Plug chain in 2024.

Amsterdam-Oost is one of the Dutch capital's liveliest and most cosmopolitan neighborhoods. Just a stone's throw from the Oosterpark, the Tropenmuseum and the Dappermarkt market, Plug East enjoys a particularly pleasant environment. It's a great place to stroll before or after a visit, far from the tourist saturation of the city center.

The shop is compact and unpretentious in terms of decoration, but true to the chain's positioning: a careful selection of products, available and competent staff, and a relaxed atmosphere that suits regulars and visitors alike. Plug East is open Sunday to Thursday from 8am to midnight, and until 1am on Friday and Saturday, generous hours that make it a reliable option at any time of day.

To get there, the shop is easily accessible by streetcar from the city center, just a few minutes' walk from the Oosterpark.
