The call of the 18th joint 2015
After the world cannabis market, which took place on May 1st and 2nd of this year, the next demonstration in favor of the cannabis legalization is the appeal of June 18, 2015.
In 1993, the Cannabis Information and Research Collectives (CIRC) relaunched the "18 Joint Appeal," originally created by Liberation June 18, 1976 with a text that you can Consult here. They call from then on, every year on June 18th at 6 p.m., for a debate on the legalization of cannabis in France. This year, the national initiative is being echoed in Paris, Parc de la Villette (metro Porte de Pantin / Porte de la Villette) starting at 6 PM, in Lyon, Parc des Berges, and in Poitiers, Place du Maréchal Leclerc.
On June 17, in Paris, a public debate is organized by the Federation of CIRCs and the French Association for Risk Reduction (AFR) in the presence of Mrs. Esther Benbassa, the Green MEP who had filed The bill to legalize therapeutic and recreational cannabis, and Mr. Marc La Mola, ex-policeman. The debate will be on the theme «Does the war on drugs really protect our children?».
On the evening of June 18th, also in Paris, the RBH Sound System collective will be there to liven up the evening, while in Lyon, you can see Bredda Sound System and Zion High Foundation.
This event, usually not widely covered by the media, is a great example of citizen mobilization. Many politicians, mainly from EELV or the NPA, have already attended. If Manuel Valls was coming this year, it would cost them less than a flight from Poitiers to Berlin 🙂
