3 former police officers smoke marijuana on camera
3 men, describing themselves as former police officers, were filmed smoking marijuana, in a video posted online at the 420. All 3 men had smoked weed in the past, but not for a number of years. And none could recall arresting anyone for a marijuana-related crime during their police careers, although one of the three had made large pot seizures.
According to Cut Video, the same company that filmed 3 grandmothers smoking for the first time, the shoot took place in Washington State where the recreational use of cannabis was legalized in 2012.
As the effects of marijuana begin to be felt, the 3 ex-cops participate in sobriety tests, play cards and talk openly the trivialities of prohibition. Several arguments in favor of decriminalizing marijuana emerge from their discussion:
- incarcerating a pothead costs more than sending him to Harvard
- weed is not a gateway to hard drugs
- the quality of what you find on the street cannot be controlled, unlike what you find in dispensaries
We'll let you watch the moment:
L’recreational use of cannabis is now authorized in 4 American states and the District of Columbia. 23 states have legalized the medical use of marijuana, while 19 others have decriminalized the possession of small quantities for personal use. Marijuana-related criminal charges have dropped drastically in states that have ended prohibition of the substance.
